XXI, str. 188: „God, that seeth and disposeth all things, seeth also that the liberty of man in doing what he will, is accompanied with the necessity of doing that which God will, and no more, no less. For though men may do many things, which God does not command, nor is therefore author of them; they can have no passions, nor apetite to anything, of which God’s will is not the cause.“ [Bůh, který vše vidí a řídí, vidí také, že svoboda člověka činit to, co chce, je doprovázena nutností činit to, co Bůh chce, a nic více, nic méně.
